It's down to the Final Five on "Big Brother 6," and with Ivette in command as Head of Household, Howie and April find themselves up for eviction: Howie because he's a member of the former Sovereign Six and April just because she's irritating. No, it's actually because Janelle managed to snag the Veto Competition this week and remove herself from the chopping block, forcing Ivette to replace her with one of her own "Girl Scout" kin. Will Ivette remain loyal to her alliance? Or will strategy and, you know, actually winning the game enter into her thought process at all? Let's find out, shall we?

Julie Chen is on hand once again, wearing what Frenchy and Rizzo might have if they had been invited to a cocktail party. In a perfected motion that she will repeat no fewer than six times this evening, Ms. Chen, seated on the couch outside the "BB6" house, expertly uncrosses her legs, stands and stalks toward the camera to let us know what's been happening over the past few days.

Seems that Howie and Janelle managed to corner Ivette and, as per the plan they hatched last week, to try and talk some sense into her. There's no way Ivette can win the fabulous half-a-mil cash prize if she makes it to the final three with Maggie and April, they reason. Why not use her tie-breaking vote to bump April off, rather than Howie, and secure a better position for herself in the end? Seems reasonable and Ivette appears to consider it. When she springs the proposition upon her sisterhood afterwards, however, April gets her nose out of joint. "You can't sit here and say how someone deserves the money more than somebody else," she says. Uh, yes, you can, April.

Cue Ivette to start crying -- again -- in the diary room. Seems that her indigent family is in desperate need of some cash, and although she is clearly obsessed with the prize, she resents April for making it all about the money. Ivette is starting to feel differently about April, and it's all about the Benjamins.

Speaking of indigent families, here is Ivette's now, to comment on her performance in the game so far. We meet her mom, who tells us, "What you get is what you see" when it comes to Ivette. Her girlfriend is seemingly attempting to break up with Ivette on national TV. Not only does she basically call Ivette a loudmouth, but she also says, "I hate Ivette's obsession [with Cappy]" and she says she likes Janelle. Talk about a triple whammy. The Cappy comment alone spells the end of that relationship. Ivette's mom sums it up by saying, "You didn't go there to make friends. You went there to win."

Back in the HOH lair, Julie has a one-on-one with Ivette who assures us that she needs the money "like you can't imagine."

Enough of this: what's been happening over at the Jury House where, when last we saw them, Rachel and Jennifer were having a gay old time glowering at one another? Well, they're soon surprised to be joined by James, who starts things off right by flipping Jennifer the bird before being forced to toast his demise with champagne. "Here's to losing," he says, making no attempt to hide his disgust. It only grows deeper when he's forced to watch the tape (yes, tape -- can they not burn a DVD of this?) of his eviction with Rachel and Jennifer. Luckily, Beau shows up right on time to lighten the mood and avert a potential throw-down. Let the party begin.

Meanwhile, back at the "BB6" house, it's eviction time. We get the requisite speech from April, including the statement, "I would like to thank the dorks." Howie pontificates on each member left in the house before hitting on Julie. The voting begins and surprise, surprise, it's up to Ivette to cast the tie-breaking vote, which she has to do in front of everyone.

In a move that pretty much seals her fate as a loser at this game, she votes to evict Howie, who grabs his bags and goes out to smooch on Ms. Julie. She wants to know where it all went wrong. Why was the "Nerd Herd" still in the house if they were such a bunch of losers? "They played a better game than me," Jedi Howie shrugs.

CBS announces another "America's Choice" competition. The winner of this one will get to party with Charlie Sheen for a weekend. Well, actually, they get to leave the house and hang out on the set of "Two and a Half Men" for an afternoon. Cast your votes npw.

Time for the HOH Competition, "Before or After?" In it, Janelle, April and Maggie, all wearing unflattering pants of varying degrees, have to decide if events in the house happened, you guessed it, before or after other events. April goes down in flames and all of Maggie's counting on her fingers can't help her nab the HOH crown, either. Janelle wins, securing a spot for herself in the final three.
